1. Who We Are
GovConIQ ("GovConIQ," "we," "us," or "our") operates an AI-powered federal contracting intelligence platform for U.S. government contractors. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, and protect information about you when you use our website and platform (collectively, the "Service").
2. Information We Collect
Information You Provide
- Account information — name, business email address, company name, and password when you create an account.
- Company profile data — NAICS codes, certifications (e.g., SDVOSB, WOSB, HUBZone, 8(a)), socioeconomic designations, target agencies, contract size ranges, capabilities, and past performance summaries that you enter to personalize your opportunity feed.
- Billing information — payment details processed securely through Stripe. GovConIQ does not store full card numbers.
- Communications — messages you send us via email or support channels.
Information Collected Automatically
- Usage data — pages visited, features used, opportunity scores viewed, and interaction timestamps.
- Device and log data — IP address, browser type, operating system, referring URLs, and session duration.
- Cookies and similar technologies — we use cookies to maintain your session and improve the Service. You may disable cookies in your browser settings, though some features may not function correctly.
Federal Procurement Data
GovConIQ retrieves opportunity data from the SAM.gov public Opportunities API and other legally accessible federal procurement data sources. This data is publicly available from the U.S. government. We do not scrape or collect any data from government systems in violation of applicable terms of service or law.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To create and manage your account.
- To match your company profile against federal procurement opportunities and generate AI-scored recommendations.
- To send alerts about new or changed opportunities relevant to your profile.
- To process payments and manage your subscription.
- To improve our scoring models and platform features.
- To respond to support requests and communicate about your account.
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.
- To send platform updates and, where permitted, product information. You may opt out of marketing emails at any time.
4. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only in these circumstances:
- Service providers — we use trusted third-party vendors (including Stripe for payments and cloud infrastructure providers) under data processing agreements. These vendors may access your information only to perform services on our behalf.
- Legal requirements — we may disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of GovConIQ, our users, or the public.
- Business transfers — in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred. We will provide notice before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
- With your consent — in any other circumstance with your prior written consent.
5. Data Retention
We retain your account and profile data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. Upon account deletion, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within 90 days, except where retention is required by law or legitimate business necessity (e.g., financial records).
6. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (TLS), encrypted storage of sensitive fields, row-level database security ensuring your data is isolated from other users, and access controls limiting data access to authorized personnel. No system is perfectly secure; we encourage you to use a strong, unique password and report any suspected security issues to security@govconiq.com.
7. Your Rights and Choices
- Access and correction — you may review and update your company profile and account information at any time from your dashboard.
- Account deletion — you may request deletion of your account by contacting us at privacy@govconiq.com.
- Marketing opt-out — you may unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email.
- Data portability — upon request, we will provide a copy of your account data in a machine-readable format.
- California residents — if you are a California resident, you may have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). Contact us at privacy@govconiq.com to exercise these rights.
8. AI-Generated Analysis
GovConIQ's scoring engine produces AI-assisted opportunity recommendations. These recommendations are decision-support tools, not guarantees of contract award probability. All AI analysis is labeled and separated from verified source facts. We do not fabricate opportunity data, contract values, deadlines, or agency information — all opportunity records originate from publicly available federal procurement sources.
9. Third-Party Links
Our platform may link to SAM.gov, FBO.gov, and other federal procurement resources. These external sites have their own privacy policies; we are not responsible for their practices.
10. Children's Privacy
The Service is intended for business users and is not directed at individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect information from minors.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes by email or in-platform notice. Continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
